While sewing my last craft item for the church fete, I realised that I needed someone or something to help me get a nice clean finished edge when I saw the lining and turn it inside out.  See the puffy seams above?  I always have trouble ironing it neatly.

So what to do.  I didn’t find someone but I found something – That Purple Thang lying around in my sewing room.  Apparently every quilter, crafter and seamstress needs one of these.

Anyway, I found that this end of the pointy tool can help press the seams a bit flat so that it makes the tedious job of rolling your seams flat a lot easier (but not necessarily quicker).

I’m still not sure if my pressed seams are the best, do you have a special way of getting a nice clean edge?

Oh, and I also found the other end to be good for poking the corners out sharply.  I also tried running this end on the inside seam to try and push it out to make the seam sit flat but didn’t have much luck there.
