Mod Podge Clothespin Peg Tutorial: Part 1
Just in case you want to make these pretty little things for gift giving or in my case to sell at our church fete next month, here it is.
Supplies needed: Scrapbook paper, wooden pegs, Mod Podge, cutter, pencil, foam brush or paint brush, ruler
Cut your paper strips to cover the pegs. This doesn’t have to be too accurate as we’ll be trimming the excess later. Mine were about 10mm x 70mm.
Here they are – all cut up and ready for the next step. Don’t you just love dots?
Apply a thin layer of mod podge on both sides of the peg. Here I have my daughter helping me. She loves being a mummy’s helper.
Then just place your paper strip onto the peg. Do this on both sides.
And voila! The first coat is done. Let it dry for about 15-20 minutes before moving onto the next step.
Ok, after the peg has dried, just use your cutter and trim away the excess paper.
Now it’s ready for another coat of Mod Podge. Again, leave this to dry for about 15-20 minutes.
And there you have it, all finished and looking real pretty. See the next post on the many uses of this humble clothespin or pegs (as we call them here in Australia).
What a great idea! My daughters both love pegging up photographs around their rooms but I never thought to decorate them like this – will have to pass on the tip to them.
