Gong Xi Fa Cai
that’s Happy New Year in Mandarin or if you speak Cantonese, Gong Hey Fat Choy.
Yep, this is my year – the year of the rabbit. You want to take a guess at how old I’ll be this year? Anyway, I decided on this cute and serene looking rabbit because apparently that’s what we rabbits are, and if you’re interested in finding out my ‘zodiac animal personality’, you can read it here.
Secondly, I apologise that it has been over a month since my last post, it wasn’t intentional. But after spending time with family over the Christmas holidays, I found myself unmotivated to resume sewing again and hence not blogging.
I had thought about giving up blogging, as you know, it can take up very valuable time with very little reward especially if you’re like me and not very computer savvy at all. (By the way, I’m also sorry that my blog is looking rather sad at the moment as I lost all my customisations when I updated my theme). But the main reason I started blogging was to keep a catalogue of stuff I’ve made and I guess if I stopped blogging, I might just stop making stuff too.

And, since the Chinese New Year officially starts today, I’m going to share with you with what I’ve started too. Here’s all the fabric cut up and ready to be sewn.

And this hand embroidered label is not my handiwork but by the super creative K (a great motivator to get this project finished).
So until next time (which I hope won’t be too long), Happy Chinese New Year.
Hi there – and welcome back! I’m glad to see you’re still blogging – you’re projects really inspire me. I’m a newbie sewer but am completely addicted. So please… keep posting!
