2012: The Year of the Dragon
Happy Chinese New Year to all those celebrating today. I feel like I’ve been given another chance to start the year afresh since the last few weeks have been chaotic and all over the place.
I don’t make resolutions (cos I’ll just break them) but here’s my very short wishlist (short because I’m not sure how much time I’ll get for sewing this year).
1. Sew something from this stash – some I bought with something in mind but most have no plans for them yet.
2. Sew something from these patterns – I’m sure I’ll find something to sew from the books or the patterns but will I be brave enough to try the Japanese ones?
3. Finish this kaleidoscope quilt – this queen size quilt has been sitting in plain sight for the last 5 months, taunting me to just get on with it and start quilting. Just the mere thought of its size scares me. I don’t even have the room to start basting and don’t own any basting pins so how long would hand basting take? So I’m giving myself a year to finish this and I do want it finished.
The Kaleidoscope quilt top is stunning. Good ,luck with your other plans.
