Oh-Fransson-Sew-Mama-Sew-Weighted-Pincushion-Organiser-CaddyA little present for a friend’s birthday using Elizabeth Hartman’s (Oh, Fransson!) weighted pincushion organizer pattern.  When I saw this pattern offered for free at Sew, Mama, Sew! I immediately thought that it was a useful gift for any sewer.

Oh-Fransson-Sew-Mama-Sew-Weighted-Pincushion-OrganiserThe pincushion is weighted and have enough room for a few hundred pins I’m sure.  There’s even a piece of wool felt in the middle to hold your sewing machine needles, if you tend to use different types and sizes a lot.  What a great idea!

Oh-Fransson-Sew-Mama-Sew-Weighted-Pincushion-OrganiserYou can even drape it over your favourite armchair or sofa and do your sewing there.  There are a few pockets to hold your essential gadgets (these aren’t necessarily my essential tools but were close at hand for the photo shoot).

Oh-Fransson-Sew-Mama-Sew-Weighted-Pincushion-Organiseror just have it sitting on your sewing table for collecting all those loose threads (which normally just gets thrown on the floor, right?)

Since it’s so useful, I need to make one for myself too …. I’d better add it to the ever growing to-do list.
