Modkid AVA top and skirt

Finally getting around to posting the pictures of the AVA halter top and pleated skirt even though this set was sewn at the same time as the other skirt.  My excuse, I find taking photos of an energetic almost 5 year old rather difficult.  Does anyone have this problem?

Do you think when worn together, the halter top and skirt looks like a dress?  I’m not sure what to make of the top but I really do like the pleated skirt though.

The pin tucks and decorative buttons do jazz up the outfit I think and surprisingly pin tucks are not complicated at all, I should incorporate them more in my sewing projects.
