I do love all things Japanese and this was the first modkid pattern I purchased.  I’ve since collected a few more patterns from modkid but haven’t had the chance to sew them up yet.

The modkid Kyoko pattern was fairly straightforward even for a beginner sewer like me due to the fact that the instructions from Patty were very clear.  I think the dress looks great without the sash/obi too, it’s a pity my daughter doesn’t seem to think so though.

Oh and if you’re up to sewing with knits, Patty has a free tutorial at Sew, Mama, Sew for some modkid Yoga Skirts.  I might even have a go, even though I’ve never sewn with knits before but it sure does look comfy.
