This week’s sew-a-long sees us constructing the outer shell pleats and so far so good.  I love the time frame given for this sew-a-long as it gives us plenty of time to finish each section properly.  I often find that if I’m rushing to finish a project, the sewing machine decides to be uncooperative and I end up unpicking the whole thing leaving me feeling frustrated and  disappointed with the end result.

Yes, I use masking tape as a guide to make sure I sew straight and evenly.

Okay, getting the pleats pinned as per instruction (10″ of the center fabric showing) took a bit of adjusting but I finally got there.

And voila!  Both shells are pleated and ready for the next step – straps and finishing the outer shell.
