Woohoo, this is it – one finished Sew Spoiled Weekender Tote coming right up.

Oh yeah, my bag suffered from “saggy bottom” syndrome (because Vilene H630 was not firm enough), so armed with Mr Seam Ripper, I unpicked the base and fused a piece of Pellon Peltex and voila, no more saggy bottom.

Here’s my tote lining sewn to the outer tote.  Nice big pockets for keys, phone and chocolates.

And, here is the finished tote.  What do you think?

Ok, this bag is a bit floppy but for next time (some helpful advice from 9crafty11), I will be using a medium to heavy interfacing like this together with Vilene H640 to give the bag a more structured look.  If this combination is not enough, I’ll have to go look for some plastic canvas to insert into the bag before stitching the lining close.

This certainly was a fun sew-a-long, I hope to join in another one in the not too distant future.  Checkout the other totes at the Sew Spoiled Weekender Tote Project Flickr Group.
