Just in case you are a bit curious as to how I did my drawstring casing for one of my peekaboo toy sacks, here are some photos I took of the process.  Follow Toni’s great tutorial until step three.

1.  Then to making the casing, press both lining and exterior pieces at 0.25″.

2.  Then again at 0.75″.

3.  Line up all pieces as per Toni’s tutorial and instead of sewing all the way around right up to the top edge, only sew up to the second mark (which is 1″ from the top).

4. & 5.  Now fold the lining pieces together (you could try stitching this bit close if you prefer, I didn’t).

6. & 7.  Pin the front and back exterior pieces to their respective lining pieces separately as show in 8.  Do this for the other side as well.

9.  Then pin around the top edge of the toy sack.

10.  Sew 1/8″ and 3/4″ from the edge, back stitching across the side seams (where the drawstring will be threaded through) to create the casing.

11.  Thread your ribbon through.

Voila!  Your toy sack is done.

I personally prefer this kind of look for a drawstring bag especially for boys but will show you in the next post on how to achieve the “other” look.
