Kerbside Finds
Let me just say, I’ve always walked past or drove past stuff people had left on the kerbside for pick ups but never once have I picked anything up. It’s not for lack of trying but when I’m out walking, I can’t lug it back home or kick my son out of his pram to carry it home. And when I do drive, it’s always too big to fit in my car.
But this time, when we drove past these two tubs of colourful bricks, I made hubby drive around the block to go get it and actually ask the guy who happen to be outside his house at the time if I could take it. Yes, I’m polite like that.
The bricks had obviously been left outside and neglected judging by the amount of dirt and grim on them, I may have used up to half a bottle of disinfectant and hubby got out his Karcher cleaner to clean them up (especially the undersides).
They’ve come up alright, eh? What I actually found was a tub full of Duplo bricks, so a worthwhile find indeed.
And for the non Duplo bricks, I’ve made a couple of Peek-A-Boo Toy Sacks from Make It Perfect minus the contrast casing and drawstring ( I was lazy and just used ribbon for mine). These two bags will be headed over to grandma’s toy box so the kids can play with it when they are there.
A great find indeed – Duplo is not cheap. My Older Grandson plays with the blocks we kept from when DD was small.
