About 2 weeks ago, I mentioned that I was going to make a quillow for a baby boy.  Well, that never happened.  As usual, I waited until the very last minute to start which meant I never finished it on time.  But it’s finally finished…and for my little boy.

I followed Nova’s tutorial from A Cuppa And A Catchup except I made mine a little smaller to finish at 12 inches.

I used the left overs from the quilt top for the pieced back and added running stitches to the top and bottom of the strip (my embroidery skills are very limited!)

This is what the finished quilt looks like…noticed anything…er…wrong?

Mr AC kindly arranged the blocks for me on this quilt so I asked him why he would have two blocks that are the same next to each other?  He said  to go check the photo he took of the layout.  But I told him that’s what I used as a reference.

Obviously, I made a few boo boos and switched the blocks around.  Ooops…my bad!!!!

The backing is nothing terribly exciting – just used some brown/blue dot fleece.

Bound it with some red/white striped fabric (reminded me of candy canes) and like Nova, I just tied this quilt.

”Hands off my quillow”.  Well, that’s what he’s thinking I’m sure as his sister eyes off his quillow.  So, off to make another one, this time in pinks and purples.

By the way, I’m linking up to my first {Sew} Modern Monday (even though it’s Tuesday here already) hosted by Megan of Canoe Ridge Creations.  Let’s see what the others are up to.
