Lawn Chair Quilt – Pink Version

The Lawn Chair quilt is finally finished – all quilted and bounded and ready for a photo shoot. First up, I was trying for the “quilt over the gate” shot.

Then it was “get the kids on the quilt” shot.

A close up of the pieced backing (using left overs) and wavy quilting.

I couldn’t decide on the binding initially – I wanted a pink binding but couldn’t find the right match in my stack of kona solids nor the right green solid.

Then settled on this leaf green zebra print fabric by Paula Prass as the binding – the green was nearly a match but realised the white in the binding is a bit cooler in colour. Still looks alright, right?

So here’s the quilt front with the last minute addtion, hence the concentration of green in that one column.

I must say, I really do like the pieced backing, which resulted because I didn’t have enough of the solid yellow. It took me a while to figure it out and make it all fit but am happy with how it turned out. I used the same yellow and white striped fabric found in my daughter’s O & S ruffle top, grey solid and left over jelly roll strips.

So here they are, 2 lawn quilts quilted and bound (you can see my son’s quilt here), I just have to add a label to this quilt and that will be it.
Working on finishing the next quilt now.
