Kaleidoscope Quilt Along: Fabrics and Block Planning

So I’m a bit behind in my Kaleidoscope Quilt Along having only just decided on the fabrics I’ll be using.  I decided on using the cooler colours but am not sure if I’ve chosen a well rounded stash.  I tried to include some large, medium and small prints in the stash.

Viewing the fabrics in black and white has certainly helped me  understand their colour values a bit better.  But I’m still not sure how this quilt will turn out.

So I thought I’ll try my hand at these colouring pages found by a fellow quilt-a-longer.  Now I know why these are called kaleidoscope blocks.  The options are just endless.

But I think I kinda like this one better (I did do a few others but didn’t really like them that much).  Maybe I just like to have more white in my quilt.  It would be interesting to see if the actual quilt will turn out like this.  I guess I had better go cut up the fabric and start on it now.
