Girly Quillow is Finished

Finally!!! It is finished. I used Nova’s tutorial again for the quillow. This time the quillow measures 16 inch square. I was not terribly creative for the pillow front,

nor was I for the back, which was suppose to be the front initially.

The quilt top is Off The Rails by Kate Conklin and came together very easily. If my prints were not directional, I would have rotated them to make them look slightly less uniform.

For the quilt back, you know how the saying goes, “Measure twice and cut once”, well I obviously was not thinking and had to piece the back to make it fit. By this stage, I just wanted to finish this up quickly. So not much thought went into the back.

I tried to copy Kate’s quilting, but quilting waves is not in my DNA. It felt too organic, too random for my liking. But I persisted. I even tried to mimic the hand quilting by using my sewing machine and invisible thread. I really wanted to finish this quilt so badly, can you tell? I’m not terribly happy with how it turned out but little miss doesn’t care, she’s been using it since it’s been finished and that’s all that matters, right?

It’s turned out great!
