Yep, that’s how long it took me to quilt about 6 inches or 1 column of this quilt, so with 8 columns to go, that’s about another 24 hours of quilting.  Wowser!!!  Now I know why some might send their quilts out to get it professionally quilted, I honestly didn’t think it will take this long.

Nor did I expect to my quilting lines to be oh-not-so-straight.  What am I doing wrong?  It doesn’t help either when the ‘straight’ lines accentuate my inaccuracies in piecing the quilt.  With my husband’s encouragement though, I’m trying to live with the wonky quilting as he told me that I’m only looking at a small section and noticing all the imperfections but if I look at the overall quilting, it doesn’t look that bad really.

I do love the simplicity and modern look of straight line quilting.  So I will persevere.  I’m hoping that I will get better with practice though.

Have you got any secrets in getting the lines to be evenly spaced and straight?  I would love to hear what you do.
